Environmental Testing

Woodward MPC’s Environmental Test Laboratory, located on the border of Chicago, in Skokie, Illinois, is one of the largest test labs in the Midwest. Two thermal vacuum chambers provide the capability to do Thermal Vacuum testing for space simulation. Climatic testing includes combination of environments testing, temperature testing, humidity testing, altitude testing, thermal shock testing, corrosion testing, S02 testing and icing testing. Structural dynamics testing includes vibration testing, mechanical shock testing, Shock Response Spectrum (SRS), Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS). Electromagnetic environmental effects include electromagnetic interference testing, electromagnetic compatibility testing, radio frequency susceptiblity, lightning induced transient susceptibility and indirect effects of lightning testing. These capabilities provide the resources required for aerospace testing, automotive testing, industrial testing and consumer product testing. Our customer base includes such companies as Boeing, British Aerospace, NASA, Lockheed, Northrop, Hamilton Sundstrand, Smiths and other international corporations.
